For over twelve years, Cycling Without Age has made a positive impact on the lives of older adults and those with limited mobility. Our volunteer pilots bring people together, create memories, and bridge generational gaps. Now, we have a unique opportunity to build a dedicated US portal that will unite and strengthen all our chapters nationwide.
How Can You Help?
We are seeking a total of 8-10 chapters in the United States to join us in launching the new US portal for Cycling Without Age. With support from chapters like yours, we can secure the necessary funding to introduce a free version of the platform for all CWA chapters across the USA.
To be part of this initiative, chapters need to select either the Community Package or the Impact Package. By joining now, your chapter will become part of a steering group that collaborates directly with our development partners BRND, providing feedback and approving key workflows as they are developed, ensuring that the platform aligns with chapters’ needs in real-world applications. Your support also includes access to the platform for three years
Part of a Global Project
We’re not alone in this ambition. Several CWA countries worldwide are working to raise funds for this global platform that many of us have been calling for – a platform that can elevate our organization and movement to new heights. With your help, we can ensure that chapters in the USA gain access to a professional, well-documented solution that has proven its value in the volunteer sector in Denmark over many years. The platform is already used on a large scale, including by the City of Copenhagen, which manages over 1,500 chapters and numerous recreational facilities. The core funding for this platform comes from contributions worldwide, but to ensure continuous development and maintenance, individual chapters are also encouraged to support the project.
About the Solution and Unique Needs for the USA
The Danish software company BRND ApS has been working free of charge over the past 18 months to adapt the platform to CWA’s needs, and we’re now ready to bring the solution to the United States. We recognize that logistics and procedures in the USA are different, and that’s why the US portal will include important features like waivers that can be integrated directly into the booking flow.
Package Descriptions
Basis Package
This package enables individual chapters to be represented in the system with essential tools to manage their presence. Chapters can update profile information, upload photos and videos, and link to their own websites and social media channels. Additionally, they can display contact details and basic chapter information, upload documents, and be included in global and national chapter searches and maps. All volunteers gain access to create profiles, and each chapter can search and manage volunteer profiles from their dedicated login.
Price: Free
Community Package
In addition to the features in the Basis package, this package provides access to the booking system and an integrated waiver tool, allowing chapters to manage reservations seamlessly. Chapters can also create and promote events directly within the system.
Price: $2,000 for setup and 3 years
Impact Package
The Impact package includes full access to all features in the platform, optimized for high-impact engagement. Chapters benefit from apps for volunteer pilots and co-pilots (passengers), providing enhanced tools for both the leadership teams and individual users. It includes a Chapter Hub for document storage and internal communication. Chapters can integrate a payment gateway to accept online payments and set up recurring sponsorships or memberships with automated billing.
Price: $3,000 for setup and 3 years
How Can Your Chapter Get Involved?

To be part of this initiative, chapters need to select either the Community Package or the Impact Package. By joining now, your chapter will become part of a steering group that collaborates directly with BRND, providing feedback and approving key workflows as they are developed, ensuring that the platform aligns with chapters’ needs in real-world applications. Your support also includes access to the platform for three years.
After the initial 36 months, chapters in the steering group can choose to continue with their current package, upgrade, or downgrade to a different software package, with only 12 months of service to be paid thereafter. The first version of the US portal is set to launch in January 2025, including essential features from all three software packages.
This is a significant project, with development continuing throughout 2025 and beyond. Early in 2025, we plan to launch the booking and scheduling functionality, starting with the booking system.
By joining the steering group, your chapter will play an active role in creating tools that make it easier to attract and retain volunteers.
A Phased Launch with Continuous Development
It’s important to emphasize that not all features will be available by January. We have assembled a dedicated team that will focus on delivering the essential “need-to-have” features for the initial launch. Together with the steering committee, we will prioritize the next releases, ensuring that new features are aligned with the needs of our chapters and delivered in a timely manner.
